"Yesterdays"

So many yesterdays ago
beside a sapphire sea,
they made their future memories
be all they hoped they’d be.

They loved together sixty years,
each to the other true.
She went away one Autumn night
before the morning’s dew.

Today he sits as years ago
beside a sapphire sea
and savors her sweet memory,
rose petal jam and tea.

Hi Susan!

"What could have made her peaceful with a mind
That nobleness made simple as a fire,
With beauty like a tightened bow, a kind
That is not natural in an age like this,
Being high and solitary and most stern?
Why, what could she have done, being what she is?
Was there another Troy for her to burn?"
WB Yeats "No Second Troy"
