Yes David,
this was a big job, took me forever to write it, what with deadlines etc,
but the fans liked it, got orders for ten more at $100,000 each. Not bad

CarrieAnn,
so you like everything big, do you.
I will keep this reply small. Thanks for enjoying.

Hey Larry,

The undertaking is certainly momentous, possibly earthshaking. I was awestruck by the sheer scope and weight of the endeavor. To think that a deity by another name created the world in seven days, with one day off, while you attempt to describe it in as much time, a struggle of biblical proportions!

I especially liked Day 5, past the proverbial halfway point and resorting to inner knowledge.

“Monster”  Poem

Most of you are familiar with the program series on Discovery channel
called “Monster - Garage: Homes: Choppers”. They are given seven days
to complete an outrageous rebuild of a given project,
that is still a work of art.
In this case I was  given seven days and 7 blank
stanza’s to fulfill my obligation.

(day 1):

Planning a poem that is enormous
one that is in size generous
proportions must be voluminous
yet has to be prodigious
still not look mountainous.

(day 2):

Could use words like behemoth
a better choice is massive
should include colossus
can’t forget immense.

(day 3):

Minor setback –
words like jumbo
another is large
even one such as big
all, not very extensive.

(day 4):

Back to basics;
need words like spacious
descriptive, as tremendous
proportions like goliath
stature as in gigantic.

(day 5):

Resort to inner knowledge now;
words that come to mind, vast
something prominent
certainly mammoth
has to be sizeable.

(day 6):

It’s now or never;
must incorporate gargantuan
another is elephantine
can’t leave out huge
must use giant.

(day 7);

The day of review;
Have the objectives been met?
Was the undertaking bigger than life?
Is this an epic?
Done on a large scale?
Yes, it’s astronomical !!

~ fin ~

In the above series, the artisans were given prominent awards
befitting their skills.
I was given a rare first edition autographed leather bound book
titled “ Tips on How to Write Poetry”.
The size of the book is decidedly
a king sized whopper.
