CASCADING TEARS

Floral scented balmy breezes soothe my soul
sitting at the edge of this unblemished water hole.
These tropical falls are beautiful, big and bold
dropping vertically, a powerful force to behold.

In the wasteland of devotion the mists slumber,
and nothing in this tranquil setting can encumber
the rapid surge of nature’s free-falling perspiration
from evolving into a lullaby of reflective inspiration.

This lulling serenity elicits musing meditations
on sorrows and brokenhearted frustrations,
imagined by throngs of visitors over the years
as a vista of fiercely flowing cascading tears.

In the cavern of hunger the spirits float,
offering vestiges of memories ne’er so remote.
Wistful dreams contemplated on the beach,
lamenting those unfulfilled, beyond my reach.

Hopes and promises foolishly cast adrift
as I find the pace of life unbearably swift.
Traveling to this remote isle of nirvana
comforts my vapid and pillaged persona.

In the furrow of fantasy the whispers call,
magical in nature, echoing melodies to enthrall.
The sun-drenched horizon is ripe to tease
with its surf-lapped sand and glittering seas.

This glorious source of resplendent pleasure
is a much welcomed blessed natural treasure.
This peaceful slice of serendipity is no aberration
as it once again evokes my heartfelt imagination.

In the wasteland of clarity the visions wait,
a prophetic sign I fear may come too late.
Fleeting ambitions I can always achieve
if I aspire to succeed and choose to believe.

Hi John

Congratulations on winning this Pandora's Challenge.  The phrases were not easy to weave into a poem and you succeeded so very well.

Hi John,

Well done with this poem - must have taken quite some writing (don't think I've ever written on that long). I do admire your ability to write a long narrative poem.

Congratulations.

J.
