Mosaic Musings...interactive poetry reviews _ Forum FAQs _ Question re Format of responses

Posted by: JustDaniel Aug 23 07, 12:43

Greetings, All...

I'm wondering if there has been a formatting change of responses to posts. I used to see them strung out following the original post, enabling us to read the responses one after another all the way to the end. Now they come as a list of who responded and the opening portion of their response. Is this a change on the site... or did I do something on my settings inadvertently that changed things.

I hope I'm posting my question in the right place. If not, please move it to to its appropriate place and let me know.

Thank you all for your indulgence of my intermittent stumbling (wherever I go!)

Hi Daniel,

Sounds like you changed your Options setting to 'outline' mode. Click over the Options menu box (to the far right with a little triangle symbol) of the first post in any topic (on the title bar). There you can select one of three topic display modes:

The board defaults to 'standard'. If your options menu on any topic post says 'switch to standard' then select that choice (or Linear). You can toggle between the three options too as you wish.

That should fix your display mode. You can tell which one you are using as it will be in bold italics when you view the choices in the Options pull down...

Ah...

Thank you so much. I have no idea how that happened! I certainly never chose that option on purpose. I didn't even know that or the other ones existed! I have to WORK at shutting out all distractors, so I purposely try to focus on what's in front of me, since when I begin looking at other things my mind will wander off in all directions at once and I get NOTHING done.... so when something happens that I need to "fix"... I sometimes take a while to get reoriented.

Not sure you understand that... but anyhow...

THANK YOU IMMENSELY... The outline format has certain advantages, but for me it's just too confusing when I'm trying to get a panorama of the critiques already offered. When I just dive in, of course, the outline format would be helpful. I'll certainly keep that in mind!
