In bonnie Scotland throughout many years
I've laughed aloud and even shed some tears.
A witness to a history unfurled,
where once mine was an electronic world
but now alas, for time is all my own;
methinks it meet to strike a carefree tone.

I've not composed a poem for a while,
although the effort brought a ready smile.
In truth a simple rhymer's not complete
if he's not dancing on iambic feet.
Were those days really all that far away?
Am I now able once again to play?

It's good to see some names I knew before,
although mayhap from fabled days of yore.
I'm older but no wiser I confess,
a problem that this board may well address
but I shall neither sigh or strain and mope
if deemed to be a case devoid of hope.

Keith Logan, the happy chappy

Why HELLO Keith and WELCOME back to MM! hsdance.gif dance.gif hsdance.gif

I do believe you were here long ago and I look forward to interacting with you again.

I may not always dance an iamb's tune
and some may even think to say 'A loon'
but this is so much fun, come out and play
and bring your dancing shoes, but do not stray...

Cheers,
~Cleo aka Lori Pharoah.gif

Thanks very much for the warm welcome Lori and Snow, is Merlin still around?

By way of further introduction...
The happy chappy passed through here
although it was a distant year
where trouble reigned.
Freedom came and came to stay
but what a price there was to pay
for what was gained.

I'm now alone, my love is gone
contentedly I carry on
and often smile.
agape lifts a heart to soar,
so rhyming days are here once more,
to stay awhile.

That aside, let's see if the happy chappy can live up to his name when he starts posting on the rhyming board. I don't think I'll be trying free verse.

Hi Keith! JackBox.gif

I don't believe we've met before, but it's great to have a 'happy chappy' around here.
I look forward to reading your rhymes and yes, indeed, you'll find Merlin.
Cheers and welcome,

The Lord replied, my precious, precious child, I love you and I would never leave you. During your times of trial and suffering, when you see only one set of footprints, it was then that I carried you.

Or the hearts of sheep, and the wind
Pours by like destiny, bending
Everything in one direction."

Dear Sylvia, a fond hello,
I hope to see our friendship grow
the longest while.
One thing you'll come to know in time
is that I always think in rhyme
So here's a smile.

Of course you cannot see it's so
but I'm insistent you should know,
I tell you true.
I'm happy chappy, that's no boast,
So grab a drink and let us toast,
yes "Here's to you!"

Great to be interacting with you again, Keith... at least in Karnak.

Hoping to expand that after I get home after next weekend... hopefully!

Wow, how time flies. I've been moving house, so it's been highly stressful with my sick husband in tow. Two months to pack up, give away, disgard, finding old photos of the children, letters, so much stuff that I'd even forgotten I'd kept. It's so difficult to part with emotionally moving things, mostly small.

I love your poem, Keith! I've also viewed others in Hermes, but I just slip in for a peek now and then. Hope we get MM moving again soon!

Daniel, how are you now? You've been thru' a lot of trouble with your hip and knee. Let's hope all the parts have been repaired...

I wish you all the best for the festivities. GroupHug.gif

Cheers, Syl***
