Splash of rain and thunder bright
Could I walk you home tonight?
Past the liquid hearts and sterile tears
Through the gently swaying veil of fears
The city perspires its salty dew
But the rain falls down on me and you
So walk and let me just pretend
The future lies around this bend
The darkest sunshine of today
Recalls the sweeter yesterday
But walks are made for quiet pain
Mingling with the rain's refrain
Of "drip drop drip, you're too far gone"
Oh wash away, and I'll move on
The crystal motion, raindrop hue
Forgot where we were walking to
Now drawn away to where the rain
Could make us walk that path again
Oh shining drop on frosty lids
That close to seal the place I hid
Wherein I found that other shore
To which I can return no more
This ocean falling from the sky
Will carry us beyond goodbye
But walk with me until I find
The future that I left behind.
