I'm wondering if anyone else is experiencing problems with the loading of pages... it could well be me and my pewter, since I'm still running on Win98 2nd Ed. It's so old in computer lifetimes, that I might as well have 3.11! There's no support for Win98 2Ed, one needs at least Millenium (if anyone can work that) or newer.

What my trouble is - pages won't appear complete. I get the title section, but no body showing the different postings. It happens whether logged on or not - randomly.

Hi Eric.

In order for to try an recreate your issue, can you tell me exactly what is happening?

Are you using "download this topic" and then which option?

Cleo

P.S. If using IE, make sure to go to View > Encoding (and set to "Western European")

Hi Lori,

I suspect it's more me than the site.
What happens - I'm looking in at Homely Herman's, reading a certain thread. I'm done and want to go back to the menu, to read another one. Hitting the "back" key gets my back, but only the title section comes up, no menu for selections. I've tried busting out of that mode by going into a thread, clicking HH there to see if that worked, but no difference. That's clicking the hypertext above, as well as the drop-down below. All I get back is the heading, up to the listing section, no listings.

If I go right out of MM and come back, that cures it.

Gremlins.

M

Ok, it just dunnit.

I posted a reply to JD's Frosty Apples.
Goto bottom, hit GO (to HH) on dropdown menu.
Get only title section of forum, no selections. No zipper on scrollbar on right side for navigation.
I'm logged in.

Hit hypertext at top to get to this location.
Worked.

Hi Eric. cards.gif

Do you have this issue with Firefox? I like using Firefox instead of IE personally.

What version of IE are you running?

You are not in the "lo-fi" version, are you (it would have no images)?

Let me know! gnome.gif detective.gif

Back again, Lori,

I has a "meltdown" a few days ago, but that was the power supply (as I suspected) causing me problems.

Peter Pewter is getting on - I spent good $$s on it new, but that was some 5 yrs ago. It's pretty well done dun. I'm still running Win98, 2nd Ed, as mentioned, and things like IE. I have Thunderbird mail program, which I believe is from the Foxfire people - Mozilla (don't go Monzilla, that's a porn site, I think).

I'll just suffer with this - it's erratic, and will be by necessity, investing in a new version with new bells and ribbons.
