The winner of our seventh annual Mosaic Musings Holiday Classic has been chosen! A special thanks.gif goes out to our judges John (Arnfinn), Larry, Snow (Eisa), Sylvia (Psyche) and myself. They were tasked with choosing 3 of the submissions they felt best represented the season, allocating 3 points for their top nod, two for second and one for third. The winning submission was UNANIMOUS with 15 points awarded out of a possible 30, taking in 50% of the total - FANTABULOUS results! holly.gif dove.gif blueorn.gif

Angels Hark

The snow is falling lightly down
To kiss the season’s b l e s s e d ground
As smiling children lose their frown
The snow is falling lightly down
Bright twinkling lights glow through each town
Full hearts at Christmas, all resound
The snow is falling lightly down
To kiss the season’s b l e s s e d ground

Sweet milk and cookies leave his sign
Big Red has snacked and brought the toys
And houses smell of mint and pine
Sweet milk and cookies leave his sign
While toasty fires spread warmth and shine
For small and bigger girls and boys
Sweet milk and cookies leave his sign
Big Red has snacked and brought the toys

December’s meaning makes its mark
As people gather on His day
To honor Christ the angels hark
December’s meaning makes its mark
when kings and shepherds trekked in dark
to meet the Savior where he lay
December’s meaning makes its mark
As people gather on His day

WELL DONE LINDI! HAPPY HOLIDAYS ALL THE YEAR THROUGH!

Hi Lindi,

Congratulations on your much deserved win in the MMHC contest. An early "Happy Birthday" also.

Your entry encompased the spirit of the Christmas holiday, traditions and joy but placed the emphasis on where it needed to be; celebrating His birth.

Larry

When power leads man toward arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the areas of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of his existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
