Can Love rise higher than the level of the flood?
Can Peace move in on the wings of a dove?
Can Hope ride restless winds so strong
to reach those who have lost their song?

Will we rise?
Will we rise?

Rise to share our lullaby?

Will we rise?
Will we rise?

Hold those hands up high?

When we see that smile return
then we can understand
the power in all this weakness—
the power in all this struggle—

the power in the warmth
of helping hands.

Hello jtl05~ wave.gif

This is a wonderful and heartfelt remembrance of the lingering tragedy of the Gulf Coast!

You have expressed such love and hope within your brevity!

With prayers and continued help, the human spirit will come through!

We will rise!

Great poem!

PS Are you Judy from Shadow?

Hello Jan. rainbow.gif

Thanks so much for posting this poem that you emailed me earlier this morning.

Your soft-rhymes really sings.gif and your message is so poignant.

I do hope we all can find  "the power in the warmth of helping hands."

I made a donation Friday through my workplace who is matching all employee contributions to the Red Cross. I hope it will help, even if only a small amount.  turtle.gif

Humbly,

Hi Jan

A lovely hopeful poem - a way to move forward after the floods in New Orleans.

Hi Orion

These are beautiful, inspiring and obviously heartfelt words and for those who receive this message I feel they will help them to find the answer, within themselves, to the question you pose.

Even or especially at this time when many more may have to face disaster or trial in the coming days.

The thoughts of many on this side of the pond are with you and your fellow countrymen.

Thanks for sharing.

Nina,

And to think they are experiencing high winds and rains now from Hurricane Rita. Trouble seems too overloaded at times for certain people and places; yet, over time a hopeful spirit can join to make a strong bridge.
