Hi Alan
It's good to read a poem from you again. This one really hits the spot for me too. The worst example was a couple of years ago when a local pub had its Xmas tree up and trimmed in August!!! Christmas is so commercialised that all meaning seems to have been diminished. (and in the New Year we will see Easter Eggs in the shops)
A few suggestions below, take or toss -
What I would ask for from Magi passing this way
is an end to the [endless,] mindless Christmas affray
from September or before they line up their list
enough of frivolity, I'm getting quite pissed. (full stop)
I [see it that]
understand stores need to plan well ahead
but let poor Child alone, asleep in his bed
In fact, to be honest, [at] the end
is not too bad
all tuckered out, [but that start's so early to be had]
it's the early start that makes me mad (or sad)for jollity and japes and all [such] kindred things
for shepherds and seraphim and three Holy Kings
so Peace on Earth, before I commit an affray
I do NOT wish it could be Christmas every day !
Well said Alan!

Happy New Year
