CABBAGE MAKES OFF WITH THE WORLD

With a large leap of faith,
one could imagine clusters
of emerald-green cabbage
eclipsing by right, not might,
every other strain of plant.

King Cole would play heavenly harp
and croon comforting lullabies
in some ancient ritual,
drop his coins into a well,
and wish to take over the world.

Please tell me
this is a fiction ?

Oh.

Alan McAlpine Douglas

Challenge words : leap cluster emerald
cabbage eclipse strain harp lullaby ritual

From Rhymezone
Cabbage def. noun: informal term for money
verb: make off with belongings of others

Hey Alan,

A definitely unique blend, beginning with the title... I translated this into the rise and fall of the sock market. I am not sure if my interp is right. I can't find anything I want to change...

Dear Dani,

Quite close really. Though your typo (SOCK market) does make me laugh !

The message is MONEY (cabbage) has taken over the world. No sign of the "fall" you mention.

Thanks for the visit.

Love
Alan

SOCK? and who told you it was a typo? LOL! It could be a comment on how valuable money should be. LOL Ah shucks! It is a typo.

Well no fall, but you mention King Cole's crooning and I sense a longing for times where being human meant more than being "green"

I still love the uniqueness here
