I wonder are they good enough?
Perhaps it’s just a futile dream;
They have to be of winning stuff
To be a first class champions team.

Perhaps it’s just a futile dream?
The waiting fans ask nothing less.
To be a first class champions team
Takes dedication and finesse.

The waiting fans ask nothing less.
But sheer perfection on the field
Takes dedication and finesse,
A fortitude that will not yield.

But sheer perfection on the field
Requires a modicum of chance,
A fortitude that will not yield
To importunate circumstance.

That minor modicum of chance,
No fouls or forfeits to be paid
To importunate circumstance.
Our team at last may make the grade.

No fouls or forfeits to be paid.
They have to be of winning stuff.
Our team at last may make the grade;
I wonder? Are they good enough?

What a great piece here "A"!  lovie.gif  lovie.gif  lovie.gif

I love your rhyme scheme and the tale told well here!

Certainly makes one wonder about teamwork and being on the 'winning team'.

In my work, this would be a wonderful poem to display proudly, we always strive to have the 'can do' attititude....and strive toward the winning edge.

Well done! I've not yet read this form of poetry!  talktohand.gif

Hi Lori.
I know that this is in Seasonal Works.
