Well, Tom,

I suppose you're right, but would you assist me on such a venture?  I've posted a stab at a sonnet in an accompanying thread for your perusal.  Perhaps you could tell me what type of sonnet it's pretending to be?

I never write these
I cannot comprehend them
I'm not Japanese

Although I try hard
They just don't communicate
As real poetry..                              touche

how ‘bout some mocha?
just chalk a lotta coffee;
say it’s javanese

Nay Daniel lad!

They are but whispers;
echoes of dreaming poets
who would fly the wind
on velvet brushes
which draw convoluted dreams
of the orient.

But a sonnet does it better.
