Hound and Huntsman ...inspired by Lewis Carroll snippets (in bold) - see "The Acropolis" for this challenge.
Man naturally loves the lure of the hunt.
The day was wet, full of tricks and fun. Hounds and Huntsmen equal, all eager for the treat.
The Field Master leads black coated derbies countryside surveying coverts for the catch.
With eager eyes exploring, Huntsman and Hound hasten a wanting wait.
Scent is signaled, stirring stamina in the sluggish, with a sort of mental motion.
How cheerfully he seems to ride high on horseback, in search of fastidious foxes!
A scampering among brambles breaks silence, concluding the hunt, conquering the capture.
No creature heeds the warning when hunted. There is no place to hide.
Contently, he chortled in his joy.

With respect, Brahms Hello "B"!
Thanks very much! :jackbox:
This is one of those 'snippet' challenge results. I never know what topic I'll end up writing about until I read the words that need to be combined...this was the result.
Thanks for commenting! :StarWars1:

Dear Cleo
I think you are saying that the first and last italics are Carroll, and you had to write something to link them up ? Or could you use them in any order, and anywhere in the poem ?
Looks like an interesting challenge.
You executed yours VERY well indeed !
Love Alan

Hi Alan!
No - not quite, I will go back and bold the snippets. I've just added this snippet challenge in "The Acropolis" member challenges as well.
Perhaps you'll try?
Cheers! ~Cleo :pharoah:

QUOTE (AkhenhatenII @ Nov. 02 2003, 14:08) This is so topical in the UK Lori. The majority want to ban hunting while a significant minority are determined to keep it going.
Man naturally loves the lure of the hunt.
I bet it's really the stirrup cup they're after.
A good challenge, nobly presented.

Tom . Hi Tom!
Yes, I've heard quite a bit about this over there. It's shocking but I understand both sides.
I've actually never seen a fox hunt, live or on tv. I got this idea from a painting I saw. So I claim innocence, ..
Thank you for your visit! :pirate:
