Oh Israel Oh Israel
the shepherd’s sheep are singing;
Oh Israel Oh Israel
the hills and lands are tingling.
They laid the child upon the hay;
the one whose birth was Christmas Day.
Oh Israel Oh Israel
proclaim Him King is ringing.

Oh Israel Oh Israel
all the wise men came searching.
Oh Israel Oh Israel
the brightest star is perching.
They traveled far to see the babe;
found salvation, from trip they made.
Oh Israel Oh Israel
Sagers accepted churching.

Oh Israel Oh Israel
the King was born as First Noel.

I loved the rhythm of this, I found myself actually singing it and then, on second read, nodding my head to the beat...but even more than that the visions and intent was adorned in that lovely musical poem...

This is a beautiful poem, in the true spirit of Christmas.

Carol, is it? Hello. I love the pure originality of this.....and as Liz says the rhythm is marvelous. Seems to read almost like a song. A song of celebration ! Best of luck in the competition. So glad to see your entries.

I loved the lilting rhyme in this and as I was musing on it, this came.

From the First Noel, The Azazel,
to the Last Shofar's scalpel,
Human history is impelled by Israel.
