Mosaic Musings...interactive poetry reviews _ Poetry Exhibition -> Plato's Pearls of Wisdom _ could this satisfy me

A Double Acrostic Nonet

could this satisfy me

curves
on a
unclad fruit
lured me and I
devoured the sweetness;
taking it for myself,
hoping if I left any
it would not be merely a dream
summoned by my hunger for one bite.

Another big Wow, Larry. Lovely.

Can I ask some questions? Why have put the first and last letter of each line in bold?

I'll look up Nonets in Karnak. Hope I learn something!

No time to listen to my muse these days. So glad Eira is back. Just us two holding the fort... LOL.

Hi Syl,

If you look at the title in bold you will see it reflected in the first and last letters of each line. The left side is the first part of the title and the right side is the continuation of that title. It is done as more of a heads-up to the reader in a double acrostic. That is also something Daniel and I do down in Karnak's. I enjoy doing a lot of the longer poetic exercises utilizing either an acrostic or double acrostic to make it more of a challenge.

You ought to try one or two. It gets the brain going when the muse is on the fritz.

Got it, Larry!
A bit dim these days, so perhaps you're right... I should exercise my brain with acrostics or double acrostics. Great challenge! Maybe a few of my neurons will remake themselves... LOL.

Trouble is, Larry, when I come to MM these days, I get very sad and lonely, so I just sign off.
I remember the good old days when dozens of poems were posted, and comments could reach about 20 for any one poem. That's all gone. mellow.gif

One could also see others online at the same time, so it was a good place to be.

I'm glad you told Lori we miss her, as well as a whole bunch of others. But I don't expect she'll participate much more. She hasn't been feeling well and I don't think the job searching has been successful. I sometimes meet up with her on Faceb., but we have different timetables. Personally, I just go there to sign petitions to help poor circus elephants or greyhound racing. unsure.gif

Oh well, I'll be back to read your sonnet about the mountain again. Must be off to bed now! You're a stalwart MM member, congrats!
