Hi everyone! sun.gif

I hope this is the right place to post it..... and that it is ok to post.

After my unthought out bashing of the smilies (I do love the little critters... truly) I wish to offer up my services to MM members. (and no... this doesn't mean I'll do all your housework for a week.)

I'll try to make a long story short. I've had some issues at work and with my health the past 3 years and they got really bad the first of the year. I opted to take a short term leave of absense because of some needed surgery and to seek some help with severe depression. On the latter issue, much of this evolved from the constant dwindling of my creative experience... hence one of the reasons I found myself at MM.

My doctors (and several others) have been pushing me to engage in creative projects, most importantly in graphics. They want to see paintings but I'm not quite ready for that. Writing has helped ease me to the door and I hope working with computer graphics will help me open the door and step outside... if you get my drift.

ANYWAY....... (or is that 'Anywho'? :winks at Lori:) I've been playing a bit more with my graphic programs. A while back I created an avitar for myself and then one for Cleo/Lori. My offer is to make one for any who would like to personalize theirs.

I just need to know what you would like: If you want any text on it, what sort of image you would like, theme if any. You can even email me an image if you have one in mind. I can email it back to you or possibly add as an attachment????? Not sure how that works.

No fee.... just a big smile and perhaps a clownfish.gif tropicalfish.gif for my cyberspace (da... imaginary) aquarium.

Cheers all ! cheer.gif

Hi Jackie,

Thank you; That is very generous of you.

Good luck with that and the recovery.

James.

P.S. I don't know what you said against smilies - but I can't stand them, either :)

Thanks so much Jackie. cheer.gif

I for one, really enjoy the avatar you created for Cleo (as well as some of our logos). arwen.gif

I actually might be calling in on your offer too (for variety sake). I will be back to your last email soon as well and YES - I would love to work with you on some more logos for other skins in our selection offerings. note.gif

Glad to hear you are feeling better - I know what's it like to not feel well - it can really leave one in a yucky state of mind. That whole body/mind thing always made me wonder: "If I feel like crap, why do I have to act like a rose? Beware the thorns!" comedy.gif

Seriously, so glad to see you back online again and thank you for offering your graphical design talents to all of us at MM.

BTW, once you create an avatar and email it - the member(s) can just upload it as an attachment in their profile(s). This is a wonderful feature at MM. sings.gif

Off to go and see 'The Da Vinci Code' movie in a few..... Haven't yet read the book, so at least I have no preconceived notions going into it.

Cheers! running.gif

Hi Jackie

Thank you for your very kind offer. I hope that the creativity needed to design graphics and write poetry and prose helps you in your recovery.

Hi, ya'll, wave.gif Thanks for the feedback on this and your blessings. As I've mentioned before, I'll be in and out in varied spurts but that doesn't mean I've forgotten everyone. I haven't had any takers yet. Yes, working on graphics and writing have been a huge help in my recovery. This has much to do with why MM has become a home for me. My old (second) computer died on me last summer and I was finally able to have the techs revamp it, supposedly to handle the higher end graphics I sometimes do. I've been in the process of loading my varies graphic programs (and locating the freebies I use to have) so am anxious to play with them again. Cleo: I haven't had any takers yet but if you would like me to do a few for your collection for members to choose from I would be happy to. Let me know if you would like anything in spacific or if you want any at all.

Hi Jackie. flamingo.gif

Yes, I think that is a wonderful idea to add some avatars. I have set the params at 110x110 on this board. Let's email or PM - of course I trust your judgement anyway so whatever you'd like to design I'd love to see and incorporate here. Perhaps we could try to do a new theme (since Ive gt a lot of nature-type ones already)? Perhaps a writing/reading theme? DIfferent types of writing tools i.e. fountain pens, feather pens, books, scrolls, parchment designs? Dunno - just an idea. Maybe some 'ancient' themes like our avatars?

What do you think?

Cheers. wallace.gif gromit.gif

Hi Cleo angel.gif

You must have been reading my mind on the writing designs for avitars. I have plenty that can be adapted. Some of my family is coming to visit for a few days but I'll be glad to work on a few for you after that. I had used the 110x110 for both of ours and no problem doing more of the same. I'll play around with some different themes as well.

I wasn't sure if you had gotten my last email. I'll send another this weekend and if it goes through OK then I'll just email you those that I come up with. Take or leave whichever you wish. Artist.gif

Hello. wave.gif

Jackie has designed quite a few avatars and has sent me 5 to start with. I have created a new avatar folder titled appropriately, Avatars_by_Jackie, and will add more as I receive them from her. rose.gif

Please DO change up your avatars as often as you like by going to "My Controls" > "Edit Avatar Settings".

Cheers!
