Security update to the board Options

Hia. We just installed the security patch for Invisionboard 2.1.5 which appears to have taken out most of the hacks (thanks Invisionboard people). We'll be reinstalling them as the day goes on, so don't worry if something doesn't appear which used to.

It is now version 2.1.6.

I need to re-install the hacks and fix any skin settings (smilie table width, topic start date etc.) as I go. This will take a while.

Some that I am working on are:

1. Chat
2. Spell Check
3. Reason for Edit
   and
4. Mod Center

I am working on the Logo and smilie table formatting, and the Topic Start date hack.

I need to do extensive re-coding n the LISTED skin so I will skip that one and get back to it when everything else is done.

Problems with a few skin logos: Vista and Hardwired and still need to re-code Listed.

I ended up deleting Vista - it was causing another problem and it did not have the Download this topic feature (which I had previously meailed the designer about last month and he never replied back - so POOF! It's gone now.

I also deleted Listed for the moment. It got messed up too - but I might work on re-coding it (but not tonight)....

I DID however, add a new skin tonight called SubBlack - very cool! I need to play around with it for a bit to see if I like it.

It's only the 'extra hacks' that we install that become a pain. The database code portions usually get copied over but anything that requires us to go into the skin css (stylesheets) (adding the link for the chat & adding the box for the 'reason for edit' for example) have to manually redone. There really is no way around skin specific coding. Luckily, there aren't many hacks I've added (7) but it must be done on EVERY skin. Since we have so many skins, it takes time. We started around 2pm yesterday and finished at 9pm.

Unfortunately, skin specific changes do require re-coding. I've seen some people submit tickets to IPB about it but so far, nothing I would want to incorporate into our code.

Hi Lori,

I was using the addy in my favs, yes. I got a msg something like the page was not available and it gave PClark email addy to contact (so not the generic Explorer page unavailable msg). I reverted to the most basic mosaicmusings.net with no bits added on and it worked fine then.

We've had 18 hits to the OLD URL in the past 13 minutes (since 9:52 am).

It appears that not many members have updated their bookmarks like I had mentioned when we converted.

I will send a board message in a few minutes to remind everyone.

Since we've been live now on the new board for a few weeks, Peter disabled the re-direct from the Ikonboard URL. Please replace your OLD MM forums bookmark that contained a cgi-bin reference (ikonboard) to:

Actually, cos I managed to sort it out and realised it was my Explorer fav addy that was wrong, not a problem with MM itself.

Hi again.

Instead of sending an email, Peter is going to make it so that if you go to the old URL, it will no longer re-direct you to the new one (he had just turned it back on today).

It will contain a message instructing them to 'update their bookmarks' with the new URL.
