The Fires Within

My passions run wild they cannot be tamed,
They go unused; no one's to blame.
I burn down to my inner core,
Can't hold back too much more.

You inflame me like a demon from hell,
My fires burn, but who's to tell.
A fever rages, my eyes glaze,
You are the cause of this blaze.

My soul craves your entire essence,
I tremble with your very presence.
To touch or to tenderly caress,
I hunger for you to slowly undress.

I fear these passions will devour,
The life within me, hour by hour.
It is as if you have cast spells,
My soul cries and my passion yells.

Down into the fires I fall,
Is this what it's like, is this all?
I try not to think of wanting more,
But these feelings I cannot ignore.

Have fires ever burned uncontrolled in you,
Leaving you not knowing what to do?
I'm afraid the fires will forever burn,
Never again knowing you, left to yearn.

Hi David

It's a pleasure to read your work again - just like old times.

This is a lovely emotional/sensual poem. Nice end rhymes too. As you write in Rhyme your poetry would fit nicely into the R&M forum Herme's. I hope we will be reading more from you soon.

Hello David, wave.gif

What a sensual poem containing smooth rhythms. I think my favorite stanza is this:
Down into the fires I fall,
Is this what it's like, is this all?
I try not to think of wanting more,
But these feelings I cannot ignore.

I've enjoyed this read. Read.gif
