down
into
the depths
of my soul,

It was so sudden
did not see it coming
though there were signs,

were so successful
up to that time
we were happy,

then, little things
began to occur
mistakes were made,

argument began
to rear its ugly head
clear minded
we were not,

we knew
the end was near
never to be
the same again,

excuses
don’t make amends
can we still be
together?

time will tell
changes to be made
there is always
forgiveness,

what do we say
to all,
have faith
someday
we will learn
from our mistakes.
