Herbal Essence

The problem with writer's block
is that you scratch out
and stare.

Then repeat.

It is not desired.

Hi Jessica,

Your poem could almost be a Haiku. I like it and your title fits like a glove.
Oh I dislike writers block in any shape or form. I hope your writers groove is back.   Poof, Wizard.gif  it's back. See that wasn't too painful, lol!

Great write,

Dear Jess

The problem with writer's block
is that you scratch out
and stare.

I'll let you into a little secret.

You have yourself a good old scratch at the back of your mind, and you'll find that you stir your imagination up no end.

'Tis a lovely way of putting it though.

Michael.

Hey you Yanks - is there something in the words of the title that
us old Europeans don't get ? You all say how appropriate it is, but I have
no clue why.

Let me apologise for Alan's comments. He's tired and all those presents to sort and funny red clothes to wear are tiring him. His usual cool is somewhat too warm. He's a very nice fellow, you know. He also has American heritage I think - which means his question is tongue-in-cheek. I would, however, wish to disassociate myself from his being European. I most certainly am not and want nothing to do with Europe, thank you very much.

Now, what he meant is "What is Herbal Essence"? I've no idea, either! Is it a Tom with special Crimble stuffing, maybe?

All I can add is that the problem with Sir Thomas Moor's (the author of "Utopia") block was that they chopped his head off on it. I don't think they used Herbal Essence, though.

Jessica - re Your poem...

I liked this. It is simple but not simplistic. It is bold. It is unimaginative (not in its writing but in its words). This all goes to show how writer's block can / does affect one. The only real suggestion I have is don’t change it. To make it more sophisticated, complex or polished would undermine its message. Well done.

My Top Tip:

I have one technique which I use if I'm stuck. I buy a newspaper. I then go through it until something in it sparks something in my brain (!). I recommend this to everyone. The trip to buy the paper relieves tedium and can break the block itself - but if it doesn't the myriad of entries in the paper should.

James.

I don't know how I missed this one!!!  rofl.gif

Cute as can be!  Yep, you guys are missing out on some "material!"  Those commercials are hysterical. :)  And effective too...I use Herbal Essence now.  The shampoo cleans my hair fine, but I must say I am disappointed with the "promised" results I have not yet received from shampooing my hair....

Oh well...

blueorn.gif ....have a pretty ornament, everybody!  Merry Christmas!
