Dear Friends, Not a poem, but I wanted max attention for this. It is yesterday's graduation speech by my adopted son Dominic, whom I met on his 7th birthday. He is now 18 1/2. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FS3-vPJKSW810 mins, and there may be a few places where you would have needed insider knowledge, but I reckon it is a good time well spent. Love Alan

Allan! I watched your son, Dominic's Graduation speech with tears in my eyes. What a fine young man he is; so full of intelligence, love and humour. You have helped him to find his place in the world, and I wish him every joy and success in his future life. Hugs, Leo

Dear Leo,
Thank you very much, I'm glad you enjoyed/cried ! You are right, he is a fine young man, and now plans to be a teacher.
I had to watch this vid several times close up and on my own, before I got all the impact, on about 7th viewing, and I realised what an honour he has done me, and yes, then I too cried.
Love Alan

Alan, I think I know how you feel, in watching this as Daniel said i too have gotten a better idea and inside look of your family. I remember watching my youngest daughter as she gave her graduation recital with three songs on the clarinet accompanied by only a piano. Think how scared i would have been up there in her place (I dislike very much doing anything in front of a public view). How proud you must be to know that you gave the ability to this young man to become more than he might have otherwise. I was very struck by his intelligence and his sense of humor, the ability to laugh at himself to know he is different and to use those differences as strengths instead of letting them become weakness', a very fine young man, I wish him and your whole family well. Now I must go wipe my eyes.
You take care my friend, Steve

Dear Steve,
It is almost 2 in the a m, can mot sleep, and Dom is still plaing online battlefield, so I just showed him too.
Thank you very much, you are right, I have helped him grow bigger than he might otherwise.
My wife supports various nephews/nieces with their education back home, and even tho I could do with the money here, I am so happy we are spreading our ability to help further than just Dom.
And think you for watching this and spending the time to comment. Can I pass you a tissue ?
Loe Alan

Alan, Thanks but I use rolls of bathroom tissue now as I seem to get teary eyed a lot lately, the only thing that keeps me from breaking down completely is the Ativan I take and have been taking for the last four years or so. I like the last verbal comment you made on the film... "how do you shut this thing off." I wish that my wife and I could do things like this, but with military pay while I was in and a lot less now that I am out and three girls to support up until they all graduated High school. Just never seemed enough money. Of course we always had guys I worked with over for lunch and dinner and especially the holidays. They always wanted to taste the Yorkshire pudding thinking it was a dessert. So I guess we did a bit toward helping others. I hope that Dom passes on this wonderful thing that you have done for him.
Take Care Steve

Dear Steve,
As my philosophy is L Ron Hubbard's "A being is only as valuable as he can be of service to others", and I take a very active hand in the rearing of my lovely ones, I suspect that they will do just that, certainly the 3 grown ones are that way inclined, so I think there is every hope for Dom and Maddy.
Thank you again for your lovely input. I know what it is to be short, we had 10 years of that cheat and liar Blair with Brown pickpocketing in behind, then 3 years of McDoom wrecking everything he touched.
Love Alan
