Candy canes and gingerbread,
eggnog and fruitcake,
these zesty holiday images
pirouette in my head.
Snowmen in hats of straw,
puffing in slow motion
on their corncob pipes,
greet us with a smiling thaw.
Baubles, bells, and holly,
adorn scented wreaths,
their festive charms
make us all a tad jolly.
Gifts of cookies and toys
wrapped with colorful ribbons
bring cheerful excitement
to every girl and boy.
