Mosaic Musings...interactive poetry reviews _ Weekly Challenges -> Acropolis _ Happenstance - Perchance?

Standing like a sphinx in meditation,
on the threshold of pure imagination,
King Oedipus viewed sweet Hermaphrodite,
as he contemplated on how to expedite
the gentle awakening of this sleeping beauty?
Thinking it was a king’s bounden duty.
Holding a mirror of brightly burnished metals,
adorned by Zodiac signs and golden petals,
annealed by alchemy, that was flamboyantly
decorated with water scenes. Thought to be
one of many archetypes, possessed of arcane
powers no one could ever resist or explain,
he heard a pig, suddenly give out a loud squeal,
on being offered a large apple, as a tasty meal!
Its joyful reaction, awoke the sleeping recumbent,
who forthwith arose from a position decumbent!
Another situation resolved purely by happenstance,
or was it a simple, fateful intervention, perchance?

Super job, Denis!

Especially impressed by:

Its joyful reaction, awoke the sleeping recumbent,
who forthwith arose from a position decumbent!

Thanks Daniel.

I'd also refer you to my reply to Larry's offering. I find the difference of approach in these challenges, most intriguing - sometimes bizarre perhaps, but nonetheless, it shows how our minds work, and hie off in different directions when we're inspired!

Catch you later. Ciao Denis aka Rhymer.
