Greetings to all poets and writers! 
This time we challenge you to compose poems (all forms, as well as FV) or stories using the BOOK TITLES listed below.
As so many book titles begin with "the", you're allowed to tweak it off if you wish!
You must attempt to use at least 8 of the titles, but if you include all 14 you'll be a champion! 
We haven't included the author's name, but they're all well known and have won various important prizes. In some cases, the titles are of their lesser works; one or two are novellas.
After joining in the challenge, we'll post a list of the authors, OK? You'll be surprised.

The Wake
After the ages of Gaia there rose
a tangled tale about the young king who
shipwrecked upon a small island. It goes,
“The selfish giant ocean claimed its due
by drowning pregnant queen but on a whim,
twin children, Sylvie and Bruno were born.
The God of small things had protected them
from music of the spheres; Gabriel’s horn.”
The English, patiently, toast in their pub
known as The Canterville; ghost of its past,
for it was once the kingdom’s castle hub
but rape of the fair country maid had cast
a pall. The blood of flowers… nevermore
as Angela’s ashes fell by the shore.

Hello Larry!
So sorry I've arrived late at Acropolis. I did view your wonderful answer to the challenge on my smartphone...LOL.
I like to read the news while having breakfast. I haven't the slightest idea how the news gets from here to there, but it does! Trouble is, I'm too clumsy to use the small keyboard to make comments.
What an imagination you have, Larry! You must be the envy of all sonneteers from here to kingdom come...wow.

Those two lines are one of many examples. The music of the spheres is a scientific book, and there you've got it squeezed in between the title of a novel and Gabriel's horn! Stunning.
This time you posted your sonnet so quickly, that we've now got to set up another challenge to whet your appetite!
As I don't suppose anybody else is about to answer this challenge, we'll now ask you to name the authors of these books! Don't Google them...or well, if you do, tell us which you recognized without any outside techie help!
