There are many, many reasons to write poetry, certainly love, grief, pain, angst and joy... but then there is MAJIK... fantasy, far aways, prince and princesses. Worlds to save, battles to win and a portal to ............................ escape....................... > > > >..... in that vein I would respectfully ask...................
Where Are The Dragons?
‘scuse me kindly M’lady but… where do you keep your dragons Are they just hid away, or lock’t in magic flagons I’d like to see them loosed a bit, if you wouldn’t mind With proper care and feedin’, I’m sure they’d be just fine
By the way, I’ve looked a bit, I think you’re out of elves Unless of course, they’re waaaaaay up high, on long forgotten shelves And what of all the little folk… the pixies, sprites an’ trolls I’ll lay they’d liven up the place, they’re such mis’ch’vious souls
And wizards, Oh yes wizards! I beg you, they’re a must And while we speak of magic spells, some witches too I trust Now lest you think me bothersome, I’ll quickly ask of faeries Lovely little fee and faye, might make our moods more merry
I’ll take my leave ‘for you perceive, I’m tootin’ my own horn But if you’ve a yen for kith an’ kin, I’ll saddle up me unicorn.

Hi Sam, Thanks again for giving this newbie such a great review. You encouraged me so much I posted three more this morning...lol. I love this poem of yours! I will have to drag out some of my dragon poems for you. I've matured a bit now, and involuntarily! But I used to spend hours with my friends (fantasy books) and my best friends (of all ages) playing Advanced D&D and even owned a bookstore in my 20's that had three game rooms set up for my customers to play...ahhh those were the good old days and this took me back to the best time in my life. Thanks for that! May you be honored with having tea with a dragon and leave with increased wisdom and joy. Blessings, Pami xoxox

You're so very welcome! It's a good feeling to make someones day just by being honest. I'm sorry to say I "Oopsed" this morning in that Lori had to delete my other two poems, I guess I forgot how we post here, but I'm getting the hang of it. Look for 2 new in the next 24 hours. Hope you have something for me too. Have a happy day! Pami

Tee hee Sam, I really enjoyed this one and the wonders of this 'world'. You know, I'm a HUGE fan of LOTR and actually have been outlining a novel idea this past week (on & off). I've got the same character sorts on the brain as you but I much prefer your pixies, elves, trolls and wizards. BUT - where are the dragons? I love dragons and would most certainly NOT keep them lock't up, ergo DUNGEONS & dragons (love that too)... I enjoyed the walk through this 'lady's' store of goodies... ~Cleo

Morning Lori;
Many thanks for the wonderful comment and encouragement. Tolkien certainly is a favorite of mine as well. His books were filled with wonders not many can imagine. Good luck with your novel, I'm sure it will be rewarding in every aspect.
